Our Leadership

Puspa and Tila Khanal are the Pastors of Heart of Jesus Church, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. They were born in Danabari, Gelephug Bhutan. They were Refugees in Nepal for more than 20 years. They met for the first time in the Heart of Jesus Bible School in 2011 where Pastor Puspa was Bible School director. They married on April 25, 2011. They were Pastors of Timai Hosanna Church in Beldangi-3 east Jhapa Nepal, for six months, after their senior Pastor migrated to USA. They migrated to Canada through the International Organization Migration (IOM) and United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR). They arrived in Canada on December 12, 2012, and have been pastoring Heart of Jesus Church in Waterloo, Ontario ever since. They have a son called Alvin.

Mon Maya Magar is an Elder of Heart of Jesus Church. She is very dedicated to the Lord and serious about God and His word. Since 2014, we have seen faithfulness and dedication in her life for the work of the Lord. She was appointed as an elder of the Church in 2017. She is supporting the church to grow more strongly in His word and Spirit through preaching and teaching of the word. She is married with Mr. Pratap Bhujel and they have two sons, Andrew and Andrin.

Dawa Tamang is the Secretary Treasurer of Heart of Jesus Church. A man with a humble heart and dedication. He arrived in Canada in 2018 and since then has been faithfully serving God. We are proud to have him in our team. He is married with Nar Maya Gurung, and they have a son called Austin.

Simon Gurung is the Worship Leader of Heart of Jesus Church. A wonderful and dynamic man anointed by the Holy Spirit to worship Him with truth and humility. The church was praying for a worship leader since 2013 and God answered that prayer by sending Simon. He is married with Sunita Subba, and they have a son called Rejoice.

Sunita Subba is the Youth Leader of Heart of Jesus Church. An incredibly talented person with a humble heart. Sunita likes to share the gospel and carries a heart for poor and unreached people. God is using her for His glory among us. She first came to Charlottetown and moved to Waterloo, and since then has been working for Heart of Jesus Church with a great heart. She is the mother of Rejoice and is married to worship leader Simon Gurung.

Sarita Gurung is a Deaconess of Heart of Jesus Church. She helps the church manage kitchen and cooking. She loves God and never compromises when faced with challenges. She is one of the most cheerful people of the church. She is married with Mr. Dal Bahadur Basnet and they have 2 children, Arreston and Adriana.
